It's the bits before and after this that we need. Finally, there is a very recent problem that causes your constant reboot symptoms. Do you use Rapport a software package to protect on-line banking on these PCs? It kept rebooting, never getting to sign on stage, I took the steps to get to blue screen, and here is what I have:.

Start Windows Normally" I choose "Start Windows Normally" , and then it shows as if it starts windows with the Windows XP logo - but after a few seconds then, restart again! I tried "Safe mode with Networking" but it didn't work also. How can I fix this problem? Thank you! This thread is locked. Restart the computer and keep tapping the F8 key till you get a list of options and choose safe mode.
When and if it boots into safe mode log on as administrator. Let me know if this works and we will go from there. I am at a loss. Any guidance would be appreciated. Cheers, Pog. This will allow for any error messages to be displayed rather then just a restart. If an error message is displayed write it down and start a new thread listing the message.
Since you can not get into safe mode you might try the fix you mentioned to see if that works. Sorry I could not be of more help. You might try contacting Microsoft support directly as they are offering free support for problems with SP3. Can you get into safe mode? My system has just done another scandisk and this time prodeced a c Unknown Hard Error. Any suggestions? Sunday, May 11, PM. Do you have automatically restart disabled and do you get an error when you try to boot into safe mode?
Monday, May 12, AM. Finn 0. I had the same problem. I installed it on a clean machine that out of the box had nothing added to it but a network card driver. The first time it put it into a blue screen boot loop. I reinstalled thinking it was just a fluke. It shouldn't, but it happens sometimes. I disabled the auto-restart and ran the update again, and the same thing happened. After all the complaints I've read of people having the same problem, I'm pretty much of the opinion that SP3 is a beta release piece of garbage and needs another 6 months of testing.
Upgrading to Vista is not an option. I use it at work only because I have no choice, but I hate it. When this machine finally dies, I'm replacing it with a Mac and I'm washing my hands of Windows. BrianKB, have you tried any of the fixes posted in other threads on this forum for your problem? Can you post copied from the blue screen the row of diagnostic numbers and any text following? Do you have an AMD processor, for which tere is a simple fix?

I havent dared turn on my computer recently as I have been rather tired and I think I need my wits about me when trying to work out whats what But again thank you all. Just like the Vista SP1 issue, the problem only affects a select few computers. Users have tried various workarounds to get their computers running again, and a Microsoft employee has asked users experiencing the problem to send him an e-mail with the following information:.
Jesper Johansson, a former program manager for security policy at Microsoft, has tracked down the issue on his blog. According to Johansson, there are two causes for the endless reboot issue: the first involves an Intel driver intelppm.
