Dovbyk was served up the winning header on a platter by Man of the Match Oleksandr Zinchenko, who also scored a goal on top of the assist. Switzerland pulled off one of the more memorable upsets in Euros history, ousting World Cup champions and pre-tournament favorite France on penalties after a draw. Swiss 'keeper Yann Sommer saved France's final penalty by star forward Kylian Mbappe and Switzerland booked a ticket to its first quarterfinals in a major tournament since Switzerland took the shock lead in the 15th minute and had a chance to make it , but Ricardo Rodriguez had a second-half penalty kick stopped by French 'keeper Hugo Lloris.
That save turned the game on its head with Karim Benzema scoring twice and Paul Pogba netting a spectacular third to put France up with 15 minutes to play. The match appeared to be over. But the Swiss weren't done: goals by Haris Seferovic in the 81st and Mario Gavranovic in the 90th minute sent the match to extra time. The draw persisted and the match went to a shootout, where the Swiss were the last ones left standing.
This match was crazy. Just when you thought Spain was cruising to a win after taking a lead with 15 minutes to play, Croatia came roaring back to tie it with goals in the 85th and 92nd minutes to send the match to extra time. And when the game went to extra time, Simon redeemed himself with a sensational save to prevent the Croatians from going up Then in another story of redemption, heavily-criticized Spain forward Alvaro Morata, who has struggled to convert solid chances in the tournament, scored the game-winner on a spectacular play.
Mikel Oyarzabal sealed the result with a goal and the Croatians didn't have a second two-goal comeback in them. Spain moves on to face Switzerland in the quarterfinals.
Hazard's swerving blast came out of the blue three minutes before halftime, shocking Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio and his teammates. It proved a jolt to an otherwise cautious first half from both sides.
Belgium was content to protect the lead in the second half, sitting back in a low block. Portugal brought in Bruno Fernandes and Joao Felix to boost its attacking fortunes, but the Portuguese couldn't perforate the Belgian defense.
