QRZ Forums. Alinco DRT schematic?? At the radio club meeting last night, one of the good members gave me a DRT to fix for him. He reported he smelled smoke one day when he turned it on.
I brought it to the Radio Hospital this morning and tore it all apart. Sure enough I located one spot of trouble. There was nothing left of the transistor and it took some of the traces with it. I downloaded the Service manual, which they conveniently left out the schematic of. Unfortunately I can't tell exactly where the traces went as the explosion was that bad. But even if I had a new one, it might burn just like this one did as this was a direct short to ground across the 12V input.
Transistors explode for reason! BUT without a schematic I can't tell how it was hooked up or where it went. I need to put voltage into the circuit and see what else burns up.
