IIRC, was the last Windows version that didn't require activation. You will need to be very careful of anything you find available on the web, and you will also be at risk if you use the internet with it, as support ended in The same goes for XP. There's a chance that you could get Vista to run on that PC, which would be the safest alternative.

The company which upgraded your computer to Windows 10 for you should have told you that you only had 30 days to go back to Windows 7.
