Vista crcdisk.sys safe mode


















Replugged the bad drive and rebooted. On reboot, the RAID came up as degraded, but upon Vista boot the storage manager ap kicked in and began the rebuild process. Happy days! My rig and I breath a sigh of relief. I can also get to a command prompt. From the Command Prompt, I can navigate to and execute files. I am going to try to get the Intel thing suggested above and install it from my USB. So I think I will not be able to install the Intel Manager per the quote above.

I've not added any new hardware or software that could have caused this problem. I'm at the end of my wits on this - I've been struggling with it for over a week now. I have the same question 2. Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit. You don't want to try and install Vista on a damaged hard drive where you want to retrieve data! Boot with a diagnostic utility downloaded from the hard drive mftr.

If the test won't run or the test shows the drive failed any physical tests, your drive needs to be replaced. It is unlikely that you or a local tech can get data back from a hard drive that isn't physically viable using software methods.
